A place where I will discuss what I’m reading and what I’m writing.

Who am I?

My name is Daniel M. Ford. I’m a teacher, writer and poet living in Delaware.

That’s not very informative.

True. Let me add some more detail; I received my B.A. in Honors/English with a Concentration in Irish Studies from Villanova University, an M.A. in English with a Concentration in Irish and Irish-American Literature and Culture from Boston College, and my M.F.A. in Poetry from George Mason University in 2008.  I currently teach literature and writing to 12th graders at a K-12 private, nonreligious school. I’ve previously taught at Northern Virginia Community College, George Mason University, and Cecil College. I’ve lived my entire life along the eastern seaboard, between Northern Virginia and Boston, but I like the Mid-Atlantic Best.

Why is that last bit important?

I like to think it shows up in the poetry.

Why Sounding Line?

I like nautical objects, and the purpose of a “sounding line” was to measure depth. I’m not doing that with this blog, exactly, but I like the idea of it.

Who made the image at the top of the page?

That image was composed by the annoyingly talented man behind  fakingdrunk.blogspot.com. His genius tends to manifest as a frighteningly swift and dauntless competence at any attempted endeavor.
